I added an edit in the beginning, yes some are right, it's more a rant, but a suggestion as well. We started with 4, then it was nerfed to 3, I would like it back at 4 again.

The reason I said 8 in the first place is a form of protest to skill balance which is only really geared to PvP, but effects PvE. To say 8 was to say if our skills are always changing because of one part of the game, I would rather just use the super skills all the time.

I guess the only thing I should be thankful from anet is that this game has no online fees, but most of all is hacker proof, I guess that is what I payed for and everything else was just a bonus.

If you're using the same skillbar all the time, I'm very surprised you're not bored by now. If you change your skillbar from time to time, then you should support change, as it gives you an opportunity to try out something new/different. Who cares why the changes happen, as long as they happen.

Personally, I get really tired by the lack of flexibility of some players. With EVERY update, on the PvP AND PvE forums, there are always people whining. Is getting really on my nerves. So your favorite build got nerfed? Be creative and make another. And this applies to both PvE and PvP.
Dont want nerfs, dont play an MMORPG.

I play pve alot more than pvp, yet I understand why there is balance. I may not always like it because my safe little build that I've been using awhile is made less effective or rendered completely useless due to a pvp heavy nerf.

The thing is I change my build, and feel relieved I'm not running the same repetitive shite still. The nerfs have actually made me think alot more about build development because I've been forced to change things around.

PvE skills are overpowered on purpose to match the even more overpowred monster skills.

Monsters usually have just 1 monster skill, and maybe more in elite areas, and a complete monster skill skillbar when it comes to special monsters.

Knowing that 3 PvE skills are enough skills.

First off, Crimson you're an idiot.

Second, the skill balance/nerf/buffing IS centered around PvP, more specifically GvG, because this game is called GUILD WARS, not "Let's Fight Monsters Wars, gogogo"

I TA/HA more than GvG, TA i love and is ignored and GvG nerfs/buff have a dramatic effect on the TA arena, yet I don't complain because i can comprehend the nature of this game.

THe PvE skills are MASSIVELY overpowered in an effort to aide PvEers against dramatic build nerfs. When is the last time you saw a change made to a PvE only skill?

Also Crimson, people do make counters, infact they make very succesful counters. The nerfs do not come about becasue "no one can make a build" as you say, the come about to encourge the creation of new builds and to aliviate stagnation of the arenas.

As far as this thread goes, who needs 8 PvE skills in a bar when all you people run is one PvE only all the time anyway that sets up your whole bar for you. I mean talk about not being able to create builds, lol.

the unfortunate side is that you are defending the change without looking at the other side. If there had been a big warning label ON THE BOX that said "WARNING, this game subject to becoming a large multiplayer pong match at ANET's discretion." Alot of people would have saved their money. but it didn't and i think people have a right to be pissed.

The name Guild Wars refers to the war pre-dating the searing that ends 2 years before the game starts (according to the official Guild Wars Manuscript) name has got nothing to do with PvP.

OHHHHH, yup ya got me there Stockholm, what was I thinking, this game must not be centered around GvG then. However........

I guess thats why GvG has monthly tourney with real world prizes and big trophies on Balts island. Ever see a trophy appear there for for some people beating the Deep? Ever get an ipod in the mail for getting masters AND the bonus on a mission? I always go to the Xulani Tourny house sos I can pick who will Vanquish an area faster, but they never have that option for some reason.

Plus I feel that a GUILD vs GUILD battle would basically be a war between the two, like say a Guild War would be, but thats just me.

Please let's not even go there, there is enough threads bashing PvP vs. PvE and vice vers. Let's just say that GW centers around selling as many games as possible.

Anet does mention that the software is in "as is" condition and that they are not liable for condition cause by software, but they never mention or warned anyone that they shall upon their sole disgression modify the software in a way that they feel best determines what they want. The reason is no one would buy the game if they felt they could be ripped off down the road.

I bet a good lawyer could argue that game modification where one party suffers over another is some kind of consumer fraud, and thus Anet and all parties involved could be subject to liabilities do to such changes.

My original Prophecies box did indeed warn that gamplay may change over time. The recent boxes and the SE edition do not have this warning on.

If you cant adapt to the skill balances then leave. There have been worse ones over time that people have managed to get over. Allowing 8 PvE skills on a bar is overkill and an idea Anet would never think of thankfully.
